CCASA and the Community

CCASA is the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault. In the community, CCASA organizes various events, many of which are in April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Along with the events, they have various resources in their survivor handbook, which is called Toward Healing & Justice. Within the handbok, there is a thorough explanation of sexual assault, the causes, how to heal, and the steps that can be taken involving law enforcement. To me, this is the most valuable resource that CCASA offers the community as a whole. An alarming 60% of sexual assault goes unreported. Most of the resources in the handbook offer therapeutic and confidential services. I would have to spend more time with this organization to be able to tell what they could do better. But what I have seen so far from CCASA in the community is beneficial.
